The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) announced last April the development of new criteria sets, GSTC MICE Criteria and GSTC Attraction Criteria, with support from the Singapore Tourism Board STB.
The GSTC MICE Criteria (covering Venues, Event Organizers, and Events/Exhibitions) and GSTC Attraction Criteria, aim to serve as the global sustainability standards for both industries.
GSTC MICE Criteria
Development of the GSTC MICE Criteria officially started in April 2023 and should be published in February 2024. The first round of public consultation for the GSTC MICE Criteria took place for two months and closed on the 15th of August, 2023. For those interested in participating in the feasibility assessment applying the 2nd draft of the Criteria that will start on the 16th of September, 2023, please contact: [email protected].
The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) formed a MICE Criteria Development Advisory Group* which comprises up to ten organizations from both the public and private sectors with with a proven history in organizing and hosting MICE events.

GSTC Attraction Criteria
The development of the GSTC Attraction Criteria is set to commence on the 1st of September, 2023, after three months of preparations for the TOR and Technical Team composition. Attraction Criteria Development Advisory Group** was also formed. The first public consultation for the GSTC Attraction Criteria is now open. (Public consultation is closed.)
