The III edition of the Turespaña Convention took place from October 23rd to 25th, 2023, at the Kursaal Center in Donostia, San Sebastián, Spain. The event focused on the theme “Sustainable Tourism Transformation.”
With the purpose of strengthening mechanisms of public-private collaboration, cooperation, and coordination, the Turespaña Convention brought together various key stakeholders in the tourism industry, both from the public and private sectors. The main objective was to promote the development of strategies and joint decision-making to advance towards more sustainable tourism.
During the three days of the III Turespaña Convention, a series of activities and meetings were held to promote interaction among participants. These included keynote speeches by prominent experts in the field of sustainable tourism, roundtable discussions addressing crucial industry issues, and market presentations shedding light on the latest trends and opportunities.
Luigi Cabrini, GSTC Chair, participated in the round table discussion “Tourism Sustainability: Where Are We?” dedicated to assessing the progress made and the path ahead for the transformation of the tourism sector towards digitization and sustainability.
“When we talk about sustainability, beyond words, certifications are what provide added value to the market. They assure consumers that you have gone beyond mere compliance with the laws,” said Luigi Cabrini, GSTC Chair.
The III Turespaña Convention stood as an essential gathering point for all those committed to promoting sustainable tourism in Spain. The event demonstrated the ongoing commitment of Turespaña and its partners to work together in addressing the challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector, to ensure a more sustainable and prosperous future for this vital industry.
