Green Leaf Foundation was established in 1998 by six organizations from government sector and private sector in Thailand. These participating organizations could strengthen their corporate social responsibility efforts. The significant of the GLF are environmental impact, tremendous growth, and competition for clients, the hotel industry provided a key opportunity. GLF ethos evolves around “going local”. Hotels are encouraged to present a “Green Menu” using locally-grown, GLF recommends local Thai products, Thai-architecturally styles that are friendlier on the environment and more appealing to guests. These practices also boost the local economy through increased local revenue and job creation.
