The GSTC is excited to officially announce the 2nd Annual GSTC Membership Council meeting in Barcelona, Spain. The series of meetings and member events will happen June 28-30, 2011. We are especially grateful to the City of Barcelona for hosting our event.
All GSTC members are invited to attend and participate in an exciting set of informative, educational and working events including a Sustainable Practices Tour hosted by the City of Barcelona.
The GSTC Open Forum on Wednesday, June 29 from 9:30 – 14:00 is open to the public. We welcome everyone interested in learning more about sustainable tourism and the efforts of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
If you’re not currently a member of the GSTC Council there is still time to join and be included in all of the events and meetings. You can find an application for membership here.
The majority of the meetings will occur in the 22@ District of Barcelona, also known as Poblenou. This neighborhood is a stellar example of innovation and revitalization of an industrial neighborhood – meeting the demands of a information-based society built on the principles of sustainability.
GSTC members will be treated to a behind-the-scenes bus and walking tour hosted by the city of Barcelona showcasing their sustainability practices.
You’ll visit the iconic AGBAR Tower, the energy-generating MEDIA-TIC building, the water roof of the Forum 2004 and more. If time permits you may even get in a stroll along Barcelona’s beaches.
Each week we will provide more details on what you can expect when you get to Barcelona. Very soon we will provide details on special rate lodging
See you in Barcelona!
