On the 25th of April, we had a public GSTC DEI Webinar where we discussed best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and Travel Unity’s DEI Standards for Visitor-Facing Organizations, which center on three Pillars: Management & Workforce, Visitorship, and Community Impact. The webinar was moderated by Roni Weiss, Executive Director of Travel Unity. Travel Unity is a nonprofit focused on increasing diversity in the world of travel through individual and community empowerment.
Recording of the webinar is available on the GSTC YouTube channel (see below)
New GSTC Applied Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Travel Course starting the 6th of June
The GSTC Applied DEI in Travel Course, created in partnership with Travel Unity, gives participants an opportunity to learn about best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and have meaningful dialogues with colleagues from across the globe. The training covers Travel Unity’s DEI Standards for Visitor-Facing Organizations, which center on three Pillars: Management & Workforce, Visitorship, and Community Impact.
“We have always looked at DEI as a subset of sustainability and GSTC as the global leader in sustainability,” said Roni Weiss, Executive Director. “Before we set out to make DEI Standards for Travel & Tourism, we first checked with GSTC to make sure that they saw our efforts as complementary to the wonderful work that they’ve already been doing for so long. It is truly an honor to be able to announce that we are now officially collaborating.”
Delivered as a 4-week-long facilitated and interactive training class, the GSTC Applied DEI in Travel online course offers a convenient way to improve your knowledge in DEI, whether you’re new to the topic or are already engaged with these efforts.
The first GSTC Applied DEI in Travel Course will take place from June 6th to June 29th followed by a second edition from October 3rd to November 10th. For more information click here.
